Lusaka PS warns civil servants in the province

Kafue, January 27, 2014/ZANIS—Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary, Wamunyima Muwana has called for effectiveness and productivity among civil servants if the country was develop to greater heights.

Mr. Muwana said civil servants were obliged to observe the rules and regulations stipulated in the terms and conditions of the civil service and the disciplinary code as guidelines to their operations.

He said this when he addressing Kafue district heads of departments at the district administration offices at the weekend.

He said government was not going to tolerate any laziness in the civil service and has since cautioned civil servants to avoid reporting for work late.

Mr. Muwana further reminded the government employees in the province that reporting for work after 08.00 hours was tantamount to stealing government’s time and was therefore punishable.

The Permanent Secretary has since directed Kafue District Commissioner, Grace Ngulube to ensure that all government employees in the district access copies of the terms and conditions of the civil service and the disciplinary code.
