The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it will consider the information provided by UNPD president Hakainde Hichilema on the procurement of 50,000 tons of Urea fertilizer from Saudi Arabia by the Government.

ACC spokesperson Timothy Moono has told Qfm news that the information Mr. Hichilema has disclosed to the commission will be considered during the ongoing inquiry on the matter.

In letter dated 7th November 2013, addressed to the ACC Director General, Mr. Hichilema had maintained that the procurement of the said fertilizer from Saudi Arabia constituted some of elements of corrupt because the procurement was single sourced and there appeared to be an over payment to purchase the fertilizer.

Mr. Hichilema said this is why his party thought it fit for the ACC to investigate the matter.
