—-Patson Mambwe has reclaimed the Kasansa ward councillorship position which he relinquished after ditching the MMD to join the ruling PF.

District Electoral Officer, Harry Twenda, confirmed the development to ZANIS in Samfya on the victory of Mambwe who polled 978 beating his only rival, MMD’s Benard Mwansa, who polled156 in the two way electoral race that took place in Samfya’s Chifunabuli Constituency.

Mr Twenda said the results from the four polling centres, namely Kapumpe, Sashi, Kasuba and Mwita saw a total of 1158 ballots cast with 24 rejected out of 2809 registered voters in Kasansa ward.

An earlier survey of voter turnout by ZANIS around the four polling centres revealed a slow trickle-in of voters signifying apathy had equally affected the voting pattern.
