Mongu,  April 15, 2013, ZANIS —-Government has given police in Mongu 48 hours in which to investigate and bring to book the people behind an advertisement  on one of the local radio stations which gave false information that the state was employing youths for the construction of the ultra modern stadium.

Western Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba said this when addressing more than 300 youths who staged a protest at his office today after allegedly receiving false information of recruitment by the provincial labor office for the construction of the ultra modern stadium in Mongu district.

Mr. Mwamba said government is aware of the un-employment crisis in the country that is adversely affecting many youths.

He explained that the recruitment exercise at the stadium site will commence after the ground breaking ceremony by vice president Dr Guy Scott soon after the contractor has completed the mobilization stage.

He said the PF government is working tirelessly by putting up measures such as the Youth Empowerment Fund which is aimed at helping youths.

Mr. Mwamba disclosed that he is awaiting a report from the provincial sports office to explain how the 100 youths recruited for the clearing of the stadium were done as complaints have reached his office.

The Permanent Secretary said all contractors working on major construction projects have been advised to employ youths from within the province.
