Choma PF welcome Munkombwe appointment

Choma, April 4, 2013, ZANIS –The Patriotic Front (PF) district leadership in Choma has thanked President Michael Sata for appointing Daniel Munkombwe as Southern Province minister.

The PF has also pledged unwavering support to Mr Munkombwe as he assumes his duties of shaping Choma into a provincial capital.

District PF secretary, Peter Kampamba, says the appointment of Mr Munkombwe is timely especially that the ruling party is gearing itself for a serious party reorganization programme in the province.

Flanked by district political secretary Bernadette Hamweemba, Mr Kampamba says all party structures in the district will rally behind Mr Munkombwe as he discharges his functions as provincial minister.

He says the party leadership has confidence in Mr Munkombwe that he will accelerate the pace of relocating the provincial headquarters from Livingstone to Choma.

Mr Kampamba has also urged civil servants in the province to render maximum support to Mr Munkombwe so that he is able to implement government programmes without difficulties.

The veteran politician has bounced back into cabinet and was sworn in as southern province minister on Tuesday by President Michael Sata who directed him to ensure that the relocation of the provincial headquarters from Livingstone to Choma is expedited.
