Western PS worried over marooned construction equipment

Mongu, February 28, ZANIS ———Western Province Permanent Secretary has expressed worry on the massive equipment belonging to AVIC International that has been lying idle for about seven (7) months since the rainy season started.

Mr Mwamba said his office will write to the Road Development Agency (RDA) and the Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication with an idea of engaging AVIC International to work on other projects in the province such as township roads and bridges.

The Permanent Secretary was speaking when he toured AVIC International’s camp site and bridge department in Mongu yesterday.

And AVIC International Resident Engineer Ramesh Suryawanshi said given an opportunity, the company stands ready to work with government and help in uplifting the living standards of people in Western Province.
