Zambia was held to a 1-all draw by Congo-Brazzaville in a 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola yesterday evening.
The draw means the Congolese remain top of Group E on Five points with a better goal difference than Zambia.
Zambia opened the score sheet through Winstone Kalengo in the 60th minute beating two defenders but the Congolese took advantage of the Zambian defence errors to equalize 15 minutes later.
Zambia started the game on a shaky note and were wasteful missing a couple of chances.
The disappointing draw means the Chipolopolo will have to collect three points on Sunday as they face Congo in the return leg.
In the other game Guinea moved to third position on four points after beating Kenya one nil.
