Be organized, women told

Acting Lundazi District Commissioner Mukule Banda has challenged women in Lumezi Constituency in Lundazi District to be organized and register their clubs if they are to receive any financial empowerment from government to help reduce poverty.

ZANIS in Lundazi report that Acting Lundazi District Commissioner was speaking when the Ministry of Gender and Child Development donated ten cheques amounting to K60, 000 to ten women’s clubs in Lumezi Constituency.

And speaking earlier, Assistant Director in the Ministry of Gender and Child Development Martha Lungu said government is committed to empowering women clubs in rural areas economically through financial help to reduce   poverty.

Ms. Lungu disclosed that out of 22 women clubs who had applied for financial help last year her Ministry has only managed to release K60, 000 to ten women’s clubs in Lumezi Constituency.

She however, appealed to remaining other twelve clubs, not to lose hope as they will be funded in the next funding.

The ten Women clubs that benefited funding from Ministry of Gender and Child Development include Chiitukuko  ,Muombwe, Tikondane, ,Madalitso ,Luamphamba, Chifundo ,Tilelane, Zaninge,Muthu wa njobvu
