Zambia has been listed among the top ten fast growing resource rich economies in the world.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});According to the 2011 to 2015 data sourced from the International Monetary Fund IMF, Zambia recorded 7 point 7 annual economic growth.
Zambia’s Deputy Ambassador to Sweden Anthony Mukwita says the development was disclosed during a meeting hosted by the Royal Swedish academy of Engineering sciences.
Mr. Mukwita says it is a plus to have reputable and credible institutions such as IMF to place Zambia on the list of fast growing economies.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});He said IMF has attributed the positive growth to better policies and improved political stabilities along with rising income levels among others.
This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by Mr Mukwita.
The Business Insider also quotes the IMF as saying that Zambia’s economy is estimated to grow by over 9 percent between 2013 and 2017.
The website article published in 2012 actually ranks Zambia as the 13 fastest growing economy in the world between 2012 and 2017.
