Scott urges Zambians to remain united

Acting President Guy Scott has said Zambians have remained united despite political differences that stem from different ideologies.

Dr. Scott said this this is how it should be.

He thanked Zambians for maintaining peace and urged them to continue fostering unity.

ZANIS reports that Dr. Scott was speaking when he addressed people who welcomed him at the Mongu airport this morning.

And Dr. Scott has urged Zambians to maintain the Patriotic Front (PF) in government by voting for Edgar Lungu.

He cited Mongu-Kalabo road, the Senanga-Sesheke road and the Shang’ombo Bridge as some of the projects which government is undertaking in Western province.

He said massive infrastructure development achieved so far in the last three the PF has been in power were evidence of its commitment to develop Zambia.

And speaking earlier, Mongu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Nathanial Mubukwanu said Dr. Scott’s visit to the province would help consolidate and strengthen unity among people in the region.

Mr. Mubukwanu, who is also North-western Province Minister, said government was undertaking a lot of projects in key sectors of the economy such as education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

The Acting President will later hold private talks with the Litunga and the members of the joint provincial operations committee.

He is scheduled to inspect development projects in Mongu and Kaoma districts before returning to Lusaka.

He is accompanied to the province by his wife Charlotte, Local Government Minister Emmanuel Chenda, PF Secretary General Davis Chama and other senior government and party officials.
