Zambia seeded fourth in 2015 AFCON qualifiers

Zambia has been seeded fourth for the Morocco 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers.

Chipolopolo’s acquired its top five seeding following performances in their last three Africa Cup tournaments after amassing 33 points behind Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria on 36, 38 and 39.5 points respectively.
Key to Zambia’s high seeding has been thanks to results produced in the 2010 and 2012 editions of the Africa Cup when they reached the quarterfinals and crowned champions respectively before tumbling at the preliminary stage in 2013 in South Africa.
And so with that, Zambia will head into the Morocco qualifiers as one of the top 21 teams who have secured automatic places in the group stage qualifiers that will be held between the dates of September 5 to November 19, 2014.
Zambia will be chasing a 17th Africa Cup appearance since making their debut at the 1974 tournament in Egypt where they finished runners-up.
