Manyinga education office reviews education curriculum

Manynga, January 8, ZANIS ——-Manyinga District Education Office has swung into action to improve the education Sector in the District.

Speaking during the District Curriculum Review Workshop held at Siwulukwa lodge in Manyinga yesterday, Manyinga District Education Board Secretary (DEBS)Dickson Munkoyo said the objective of the workshop was to improve education standards in the district.

Mr Munkoyo added that the Curriculum review exercise is in line with the Ministry of Education Policy to effectively prepare good education foundation for children.

He said the targeted grades are mostly non examination classes starting from grade 1 to 4 at Primary School and grade 8 and 10 at Secondary School aimed at equipping them before reaching examination grades.

And Grace Phiri, one of the teachers who attended the workshop expressed delight over the Curriculum Review exercise, saying it will improve literacy levels among school going children in the district.

Meanwhile, Mr Munkoyo disclosed to ZANIS that the new Curriculum, implementation and Sensitization exercise in various schools and communities has started.

Some of the areas covered in the exercise are Kawanda, Chitebe, Loloma, Lwansonga and Kashinakaji.
