—-Nchelenge District Commissioner (DC) Royd Chakaba, has called for team work among Heads of Government Departments (HODs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in order to stir development in the area.
Mr Chakaba observed that Nchelenge district of Luapula province has a lot of developmental challenges that can only be dealt with through team work, consultancy and transparency among all the stakeholders.
The DC, who was recently transferred to Nchelenge from Samfya, said this in his maiden speech during a familiarization meeting with heads of departments held at the council chamber yesterday.
He said the Patriotic Front (PF) government is in a hurry to development the country but that this can only be realised through a vibrant and well co-ordinated public service.
“A plausible vibrant and well co-ordinated public service is crucial in implementation of policies and programmes that can foster development,” he said.
Mr Chakaba reminded the gathering that public service workers have the duty to serve the government of the day and urged the heads of departments to ensure that their subordinates adhere to the code of ethics.
