Sata urges Kapiri electorates to vote for Musonda

Kapiri Mposhi, April 13, ZANIS ——- President Michael Sata was today in Kapiri Mposhi to drum up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Eddie Musonda for the forthcoming Kapiri Mposhi by elections.

The Seat is being contested by Mr Musonda of the PF, Mr Francis Mwape of the United National Independence Party (UNIP) and Mr Lawrence Zimba for the United Party for National Development (UPND).

President Sata called on the electorates to vote for the PF candidate for them to ensure development in their area because Mr Musonda is a person with the heart of the people of Kapiri Mposhi.

President Sata said the people of Kapiri have lacked development for a long time now and the PF is the party that will secure development in the area.

The president who was in the company of PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, PF MPs Emmanuel Chenda and Edgar Lungu dispelled assertions that he was sick saying he had decided to visit the province to let people see for themselves that he was not sick as suggested by the opposition political parties.

“People say I’m sick but im here to prove them wrong. The day I’ll be sick even an ant will know” he said.

And President Sata has advised PF candidate for Kapiri Eddie Musonda to be humble and listen to the people if he is to deliver on people’s needs in the area.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has described as liars the presidents of MMD Nevers Mumba and the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for saying President Sata’s health was not good and urged the people of Kapiri to tell off the opposition for lying to them.

Mr Kabimba told the people that if they voted for the opposition they would be refusing development in the area because the opposition are liars.

The forthcoming by elections follow the nullification of the seat by the courts after a successful appeal by the PF.

Nominations were lodged on Thursday 28th March, 2013 for the polls to take place on Tuesday 23rd April, 2013 between 06:00hrs and 18:00hrs.
