Speed fines dropped

GOVERNMENT has waived fines slapped on over-speeding motorists only on the road leading to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport because it is the only one without speed limit signs.
And Government has not back-tracked on the speed cameras mounted by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) on some roads in Lusaka.

Chief Government spokesperson Dora Siliya said at a media briefing yesterday that RTSA will only waive fines slapped on motorists who contravened speed limits on Airport Road because it is the only one without speed limit signage.

“Government is fully behind RTSA and we support 100 percent the roll-out of speed cameras under the Intelligent Mobile Solutions project.
