United party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has described the arrest of Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili as mere persecution.

Mr. Kambwili is detained at Woodlands Police station after being charged with 39 counts which include two for obtaining pecuniary advantage and 37 for being in possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Speaking when he visited the Roan lawmaker to show solidarity, Mr. Hichilema has accused the PF government of exhibiting dictatorial tendencies.

He says what is happening to Mr Kambwili happened to him and is likely going to happen to others.

Mr Hichilema has called on Zambians to unite against Police brutality.
