President Lungu urged to set a Commission of Inquiry on controversial Mukula tree.

Party of National Unity – PNU has called on Republican President, Edgar Lungu, to appoint a Commission of Inquiry into the illicit cutting, stocking and export of Mukula tree.

In a statement to Mano News today, PNU – Secretary General, Kasote Singogo, says it is imperative for President Lungu to constitute an Inquiry to establish the truth pertaining to individuals and enterprises involved.

Mr. Singogo stresses that his party holds the view that it is only a commission of inquiry that can effectively curb the illegal trade of the priceless tree.

He notes that the Mukula saga cannot just be dispelled through official statements.
