The State has entered a nolle prosquei in a matter where Post Newspaper Editor Fred M’membe and Reporter Funga Mukosha were facing a charged of publishing classified information.

Deputy Chief State Advocate Patrick Mutale disclosed this today before Lusaka High Court Judge Eddie Sikazwe.

Mr Mutale cited lack of cooperation with prospective Anti-Corruption -ACC witnesses as the reason, the state has entered nolle prosquei in the matter.

But Defence Counsel Nchima Nchito submitted that there is no evidence that his clients have committed a crime.

On April 17,2015, Mr M’ Membe and Ms Mukosha while acting together allegedly published a letter by former ACC Director General Rosewin Wandi to President Edgar Lungu.

The letter allegedly informed President Edgar Lungu that the ACC wanted to institute investigations against his Special Assistant for Political Affairs Kaizer Zulu.

Publication of classified information is contrary to Section five of the State Security Act of the Laws of Zambia.
