Zambia’s annual inflation rate for November has risen to 19.5 percent from 14.3 percent recorded in October.

Central Statistical Office -CSO- Acting Director Goodson Sinyenga has attributed the increase to a rise in prices for both food and non food items.

Mr.Sinyenga says the annual food inflation rate for November was recorded at 23.4 percent compared to 16.2 percent recorded in October.

He said non food inflation for November stood at 15.5 percent from October’s 12.4 percent.

Meanwhile Zambia has recorded a 2.5 billion Kwacha trade deficit for October a rise from 2.1 billion Kwacha recorded in September.
