Opposition FDD President Edith Nawakwi has offered her expertise to government free of charge to resolve Zambia’s energy deficits.
Ms. Nawakwi believes she does not need to be paid or become republican President Edgar Lungu’s friend to help resolve the current challenges in the country’s energy sector.

She has told Qfm News in an interview challenges in the energy sector are issues that President Lungu himself can simply pick up a phone and call economic experts like herself to coordinate work in the sector pro bono.

Ms. Nawakwi states that given what is obtaining in the sector, it is high time that solar energy come on stream.
She is of the view that solar energy is the fastest way to supplement power supply in Zambia given the fact that it can only take clear nine months to build.

The FDD president has listed Kasama, Kalomo and Mwinilunga as some of Districts in the country with high radiation where solar power generation can be maximized.
She thinks that the country should not continue having power deficits just because other countries in the region are also in short supply.
