Zambia Amateur Boxing Federation National coach Kennedy Kanyanta has said that the under-twenty boxing team is shaping up well ahead of the All Africa games slated for Congo next month.

Kanyanta told ZANIS Sports in a telephone interview in Lusaka today that the team is ready for the championship and that the boxers are currently perfecting their ring-craft.

He said the final team that is going to represent Zambia comprises six boxers, Bwalya Lumbwe, Emmanuel Kabwe, Timothy Chesu, Precious Makina, Ben Muziyo and Peter Mukenuka.

Kanyanta said that the final team was supposed to comprise 8 boxers but one of the pugilists got injured and the other one was dismissed due to indiscipline.

He however, said the absence of the two boxers will not adversely affect the team because boxing is an individual game.

Kanyanta said that the team is likely to leave early in order to accord the boxers enough time to acclimatize before the finals because boxing is affected by weather changes and thus the need to have adequate time to adjust to the weather in Congo.

Meanwhile, Kanyanta commended government and the Zambia Boxing Federation for providing support and other logistics during the camping.
