Lusaka, March 10th, 2015, ZANIS —-  President Edgar Lungu will travel to South Africa to be evaluated over his medical condition as recommended by a team of doctors that treated him at Maina Soko.

Speaking to journalists at Chawama Basic School where he witnessed the filing of parliamentary nominations,President Lungu confirmed that he will travel to South Africa for medical purposes.

"I am feeling much better, no wonder I am here.I will travel to South Africa this afternoon where doctors will decide how to treat my condition. I will come back alive, who wants to die?" President Lungu joked about his health.

During medical tests and treatment, doctors established that President Lungu was suffering from a medical condition that causes the narrowing of the food pipe and was treated 30 years ago but had recurred.

President Lungu also called for peaceful campaigns in the run-up to the April 14th by elections to be held in Chawama, Masaiti and Senga Hill.

He also urged voters to turn up in large numbers and avoid the apathy that characterised the last election.
