Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila has warned civil servants in the habit of leaking classified government information of stern action.
Mr. Mwila ha
s told Qfm news that he is aware of some civil servants that are being used by the opposition and civil society organizations to leak government information and use it to gain political mileage.
Mr. Mwila says his office is on high alert and will work hand in hand with the Police to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
He says all government officers should therefore abide by the rules and regulations of their jobs and ensure that they remain loyal and protect government from such vices.
The Home Affairs Minister stresses that he will not take kindly anybody that will be found wanting.
He says classified documents are not meant for the public or any other place before being declassified.
