Kaunda declares U-17 team ready

Lusaka, February 14, ZANIS–The Zambia U17 National Football Team coach Chris Kaunda said his team is well prepared for the junior Africa cup which kicks off tomorrow in Niamey, Niger.

 

Kaunda has also declared his charges ready for tomorrow’s opening Group A match against Guinea in the 11th Edition of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship.

 

Speaking after last evening’s training at Camp Baggagi Military ground, Kaunda said his lads have been ready for some time now and are just waiting for their first match.

 

This is According to a statement issued to ZANIS Sports in Lusaka by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications officer Nkweto Tembwe from Niger today.

 

And team Captain Patson Daka said the team is not scared of any of its opponents because they believe they have what it takes to record good results against other group opponents who include Guinea, Niger and Nigeria.

 

The Nchanga Rangers striker said playing away from home was okay for the team considering that the team has played more away games than home matches.

 

The junior Chipolopolo who arrived in Niger last night begin their junior Africa cup championship campaign tomorrow February 15 against Guinea at 18:00 hours Zambian time.

 

Zambia is in group A with Nigeria, Guinea and hosts Niger, while group B has Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Mali and South Africa.
