North-western Province Minister Dawson Kafwaya says government projects being implemented in the region have the potential to raise people living standards.

Mr. Kafwaya who is on a familiarization tour of the province said this yesterday when he paid a courtesy call on Chavuma District Commissioner Lawrence Kayumba.

He said the on-going projects have gobbled colossal sums of money and that government is doing its best to improve the lives of its citizens.

Mr. Kafwaya also appreciated the efforts District Commissioners in the province were putting in to ensure government projects are implemented as planned.

And speaking earlier, Mr. Kayumba said the district boasts of several on-going projects that will bring meaningful development in various sectors of the economy.

He noted that projects such as the construction of Chavuma District Hospital, Chavuma Boarding School, Police Station and local court among others will enable government to deliver various services to the people.

The District Commissioner bemoaned the absence of mobile network at Chingi and some parts in the west bank and called on government to consider putting up towers in the area.
