Netball Central Venue for the Sydney 2015 world netball cup tournament opened officially

 

Lusaka, February 6, 2015, ZANIS–The Netball Central Venue for the Sydney 2015 world netball cup tournament which kicks off in August has officially been opened.

 

 

New South Wales Minister for Sport and Recreation in the United Kingdom Stuart Ayres officially opened the venue at Sydney Olympic Park this morning.

 

 

Ayres says that the state of the art, netball-specific facility worth over 30 million Kwacha pre-dominantly funded by the New South Wales State and the Australian Federal Government.

 

 

The facility will not only host the 16 international teams who have qualified for the Netball World Cup, but will also be the new home of Netball in New South Wales.

 

This is according to the International Netball Federation (INF) website monitored by ZANIS sports today.

 

 

Zambia is among the 16 teams that has qualified to this year’s world netball tournament which also includes Australia, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, Malawi and South Africa.

 

 

The rest of the countries are Wales, Scotland, Fiji, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Uganda.
