Flirting manager caught red-handed, killed

A manager at Professional Insurance Company in Kasama has died after being hit with a plank on suspicion that he was flirting with a married woman.

 

Northern Province Police Commissioner, Charity Katanga, named the deceased as Derrick Banda, 35, of Mulenga Hills Township in Kasama.

 

Ms Katanga narrated that Mr Banda, who was in a company of his friend, met his fate after he was caught red- handed with Peter Simwanza’s wife in their matrimonial house in Lualuo village last week on Thursday.

 

She said Simwanza, who arrived home in the night, found his wife with Mr Banda whom he suspected was having an affair with his wife and hit him with a plank.

 

The deceased was then admitted to Kasama General Hospital where he later died the following day.

 

Ms Katanga added that a post-mortem conducted revealed that Mr Banda died due to head injuries sustained on the forehead and will be put to rest today in Lusaka.

 

She said police were still looking for Simwanza who is still on the run.
