Voting at Mabonde Secondary School Polling Station in Chitambo District started at exactly 06:00hrs with few people coming to cast their votes.

By 09:00hrs people were trooping in small numbers and the mood at the polling station has been calm and peaceful.

Mabonde Polling Station Presiding Officer Brian Kapumba said people are expected to increase by midday as most of the voters have gone farming considering the rainy season.

“This place being a rural area, people have gone to the farm so it might be too early to judge, I expect them to increase by afternoon,” he said.

One of the voters Mabin Kasompe said he expects the government that will be ushered into power to do massive development in all sectors of the country and to provide employment for the youths.

Mabonde Polling Station has 1,396 registered voters out of which 719 are female while 677 are male.
