— 120 draft constitution copies recieved in Kaputa district

Kaputa District in Northern Province
has received 120 copies of the final draft constitution.

 


The District Administration Officer, Alick Kampamba said in a notice
made to government heads of departments and parastatal heads that the
district has received copies of the final draft constitution and the
constitution of Zambia bill of 2014.

 


Mr. Kampamba who distributed the copies of the draft
constitution to all departments and other stakeholder has since
encouraged officers to read the draft constitution.

 


Mr. Kampamba who also confirmed to ZANIS in an interview yesterday
that the district has received 120 copies of the final draft
constitution.

 


He added that the district has also received 120 copies of the
constitution of Zambia bill of 2014 which has also been distributed to
all departments.

 


Government released the final draft constitution on 23rd October 2014.

 


The final draft constitution is the piece of legislature that if
passed will be the constitution of Zambia, while the constitution of
Zambia bill of 2014 provides for the commencement of constitution of
Zambia.

 


It also repeals of the constitution of Zambia Act of 1991.
 Zambians are expected to make their final comments to the final draft
constitution through the Ministry of Justice before it is enacted.
