Serenje ECZ intensifies replacement exercise

Serenje, December 31, 2014, ZANIS……The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Serenje district has intensified publicity of the voters cards replacement exercise .

The Commission wants to ensure that more people in the district replace their lost or damaged voters cards.

District Electoral officer Kennedy Kazanda said despite the exercise being conducted in the rain season when people are busy with farming, people’s response to the exercise has been good.

Mr Kazanda said despite the good response from the electorates , the Commission has intensified publicity to raise awareness and capture more people so that they can vote in the January 20 Presidential by-elections.

“ECZ is has intensified publicity of the exercise to see to it that more people are captured and enabled to vote in the forthcoming presidential by-elections”,  Mr Kazanda said.

The District Electoral officer has since called on residents of Serenje who have not yet had their lost or damaged voters cards replaced to do so before the exercise comes to an end on 3rd January 2015.

ECZ has opened four centers for the voters card replacement exercise in each of the two constituencies namely Muchinga and Serenje Central.
