—-A senior citizen in Serenje district in Central province has advised the PF to be united following the High Court’s declaration of Edgar Lungu as PF president.

This is in the wake of wrangles that have rocked the ruling party following the death of late President, Michael Sata.

Henry Mukangasa said the interest of Zambians is to see the country enjoy peace hence the need for the ruling party to be united since the High Court has declared Mr Lungu as PF president.

Mr Mukangasa, who is also overseer of the Baptist Churches Association, called on Miles Sampa to join Lungu’s camp so that the party is united once again.

“What we want as the people of this country is peace and not bloodshed and contention, so I am calling on Mr Sampa’s camp to join Mr Lungu so that the party is strong and ready for the battle ahead,” Mr Mukangasa said.

He said Zambians are ready to vote for a party that is united.

“We are ready to vote for a party that is united not divided; no we don not want that at all,” Mr Mukangasa said.

Mr Sampa claims and insists that he is PF president after he was purportedly elected at an illegally held party conference in Kabwe over the weekend.

Since then there have been divisions between Mr Lungu’s camp and Mr Sampa’s camp, forcing Mr Sampa to seek a court injunction restraining Mr Lungu from the PG presidency.

The courts of law have since thrown out Mr Sampa’s application.
