2014 a good year for Zambian soccer — Kalu

 

Lusaka, December 3rd , 2014,  ZANIS–The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says it satisfied with the gains achieved in Zambian football in the year 2014.

 

 

And FAZ president Kalusha has thanked government, MTN, Zambian Breweries, Super Sport and other cooperating partners for their continued support to the game of football.

 

 

 Meanwhile, Zambia National Football Team Coach Honour Janza has summoned 24 local players to start preparations for next year’s Africa cup of nation’s championship.

 

 

Bwalya says FAZ is pleased with the qualitative competition in the Zambian Super League as evidenced in the last two years.

 

 

He noted that the quality gap among the teams is reducing thereby resulting in a qualitative football competition.

 

 

The FAZ president has since congratulated Zesco United Football Club for winning the 2014 MTN/FAZ Super league and the 2014 Barclays cup.

 

ZANIS sports reports that the FAZ president said this in a statement signed by the organisation’s Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe.

 

 

Zesco United F.C were crowned the 2014 FAZ/MTN super league champions after finishing on 60 points three better than second placed Power dynamos that had 57 points.

 

 

The Utility company’s sponsored side ended the 2014 with a double after they thumped  Nkana F.C three nil in  the finals of the Barclays Cup at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

 

 

And FAZ president Kalusha has thanked government, MTN, Zambian Breweries, Super Sport and other cooperating partners for their continued support to the game of football.

 

 

 

He further thanked the soccer fans for their unwavering support to all the national teams that qualified to their respective Africa cup finals.

 

 

Meanwhile, Zambia National Football Team Coach Honour Janza has summoned 24 local players to start preparations for next year’s Africa cup of nation’s championship.

 

 

 

Janza has since urged all the players to report to camp in Lusaka on December 14, 2014 to begin the preparations for the 2015 Equatorial Guinea Africa cup of nation’s tournament.

 

 

The Chipolopolo coach however said the full camp that includes foreign based players will commence on December 26, 2014.

 

 

The players called to camp includes Danny Munyao, Satchmo Chakawa,Toaster Nsabata, Joshua Titima,Nyambe Mulenga,Christopher Munthali,Donashano Malama,Spensor  Sautu, Shadreck Malambo,Kennedy Mudenda,Larry Bwalya,Changwe Kalale,Nsofwa Mwansa and Charles Zulu. 

 

                              

The rest are Bruce Musakanya, Rodrick Kabwe, Kayawe Kapota, Alex Mwamba, Dennis Banda, Jimmy Chisenga, Jackson Mwanza, Ronald Kampamba, Festus Mbewe and Simon Silwiimba.
