A NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATION (NGO) IN KASAMA, ZAMBIAN UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS ORGANISATION (ZUYO) HAS CHARGED THAT THE PARALLEL CAMPAIGNS IN THE MMD ARE A SIGN OF LACK OF LEADERSHIP IN THE PARTY.

ZUYO president, Gershom Chama told Mano News today that contradicting statements on who will stand on the MMD ticket between Rupiah Banda and Nevers Mumba is misleading electorates.

Chama observed that the situation where the duo of Rupiah and Nevers launched separate campaigns in Lusaka and Chinsali respectively with a view to stand on the same party is unfortunate.

He wondered how the either of the two could unite the nation if elected when they have failed to solve the intra-party difference.

On Saturday, MMD president; Nevers Mumba launched his campaign trail in Chinsali while Rupiah Banda who issued a certificate of adoption by the National Executive Committee launched his yesterday in Lusaka.

Zambia’s 4th Republican President Rupiah Banda has been officially unveiled as the MMD’S candidate for the January 20, 2015 Presidential Election.

Mr Banda has since launched his campaign ahead of the polls at a rally held at Mahatma Gandhi ground in Lusaka’s Mtendere compound.

He has also pledged to deliver a new constitution before the 2016 general elections.
