DC calls for prayers during leadership transition

Mpongwe, 28 November 2014….ZANIS—- Masaiti District Commissioner Joseph Mwambana says Zambians should remain prayerful and steadfast during the leadership transition period.

Mr. Mwambana further noted that all citizens should seek Gods guidance in electing a God fearing leader to take over from where late Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata left.

Speaking during a walk in interview with ZANIS in Mpongwe , Mr  Mwambana further urged rural dwellers to stay abreast and informed about the current state of affairs in order to make informed decisions regarding the leadership transition currently being faced in the country.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwambana urged farmers across the country who had not yet received payments from the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to exercise patience and remain calm.

Mr. Mwambana added that government was currently addressing matters relating to payments of farmers who sold their produce to the Agency under the 2013/2014 maize marketing season and would  ensure that they are all paid in due course.

He however disclosed that he had directed agricultural staff in the district to ensure that all farmers benefit from the Fertilizer Input Support Programme (FISP) under the 2014/2015 maize marketing season.
