—-The Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) has commended Mohamed Essa for emerging second at the just-ended Africa Rally Championship (ARC) held in Madagascar.

ZMSA vice president, Sam Chin’gambu, said despite Essa not winning first position, Essa put up a good performance as he only lost by one point.

Chin’gambu told ZANIS Sports in an interview in Lusaka today that Essa’s scooping of the second position at the Africa Motor Rally Championship was a good achievement for Zambia.

Last week, Essa failed to reclaim the Africa Rally Championship title after finishing second at the Madagascar International Rally in Antananarivo which Gary Chaynes of Ivory Coast was crowned African champion.

And Chin’gambu has disclosed that three drivers whom he did not name are expected to represent Zambia at next year’s Africa Rally champion.

Chin’gambu expressed hope that with the current crop of talented drivers, the country is destined to reap many medals in the upcoming championships.

Meanwhile, Chin’gambu has praised the corporate world, individuals and the media for their continued support towards motor sport in the country.
