TAZARA mourns Sata as visionary leader

Mpika, Nov 6, 2014, ZANIS…Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) management and staff were among the organizations that have signed in the book of condolences which has been opened at Mpika district Council Secretary’s office.

In their message of condolences, management said it is during the tenure of office of the late President Michael Sata that TAZARA received  government support .

On behalf of management, Mr. Danny Kataso who led the delegation of workers and management staff from Mpika regional office said it was the first time that TAZARA had received unprecedented budgetary allocation from the treasury because late President Sata had the heart for reviving the company.

Mr. Kataso added that President Sata was determined to improving the railway network in the country adding that Mpika workshop also had its infrastructure rehabilitated.

And union officials also described President Sata as a leader who valued the plight of workers and tried his level best to clear the outstanding salary arrears and pay retirees of TAZARA.

Others who signed the book are Mpika district civic leaders who were led by the Council Chairman Christopher Mulenga.

Zambia college of Agriculture was among the notable institutions that have conveyed their  message of condolences.
