Zambian Govt to unveil new foreign policy next week

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says Zambia’s revised foreign Policy will be launched next week on 17th October.

Mr Kalaba says the revised foreign policy which will focus on economic diplomacy was approved by Cabinet about three weeks ago.

Mr Kalaba explains that by focusing on economic diplomacy, the PF government is trying to look at the advantages that Zambia can extrapolate from outside.

He says government want to explore advantages the country can get from the countries where Zambia has missions by attracting foreign direct investment.

Mr Kalaba adds that the new policy focuses on wooing investors into the country and harnessing the Diaspora in developing the economy.

The Foreign Affairs Minister states that the world has moved on and that it has become imperative that a new policy is introduced.

Mr Kalaba was speaking when he featured on ZNBC TV’s Sunday Interview last evening.
