The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says there’s urgent need to adjust electoral boundaries to ensure that all the newly created districts have at least one constituency.

ECZ Chairperson Irene Mambilima said the creation of new districts by President Michael Sata had resulted in the revision of some of the district boundaries to pave way for new districts.

She said this in a speech read on her behalf by Acting Kalulushi Town Clerk Josephine Simwinga at a workshop on delimitation held in Kalulushi yesterday.

Ms Mambilima said the exercise will involve relocation of polling stations to more suitable sites.

She however said that the Commission would only be able to effect the delimitation of new wards after the Ministry of Local Government issues a Statutory Instrument to legalise the new wards.
