United party for national development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema has congratulated the winners in the just ended by-elections that were conducted in Vubwi, Kasenengwa, and Zambezi west, Solwezi central and Mkushi south.
In statement issued to QFM News, Mr. Hichilema however accused the Patriotic Front of being a corrupt government adding that it is never an ease job because they freely break the electoral rules with impunity.
Mr. Hichilema states that it is unfortunate that rules such as use of government resources and civil servant such district commissioners have been the issue
Mr. Hichilema has also wondered why patriotic front party officials and ministers can now freely use Zambia Air force (ZAF) helicopters for campaigns, a facility which only reserved for the president and his vice.
He says his party sympathizes with the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and other law enforcement agencies such as the police that are doing their work under very difficult circumstances.
The UPND Leader has since urged all its members and genuine Zambians never to give up on the need for a new constitution that will provide for a more focused leadership in the country that will be truly be accountable to the voters.
Mr. Hichilema has also stated that the low voter turn-out in the just ended by-elections can only mean that Zambians are fatigued with perpetual elections since 2011 that the PF has subjected them to.
