A 55 year old businessman of Livingstone district has been arrested for fraud following the forgery of documents he proposed to have been issued by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Confirming the development to ZANIS, Livingstone Officer Commanding Joseph Chitambo said Nelson Mwimbi a business man and owner of Touch Down Graphic in Livingstone was arrested and charged with two counts of making and altering documents which he presented to a clearing agent.

He said that it is alleged that Mr Mwimbi made the documents that were supposed to be added to other documents in order to clear a consignment of six tracks carrying 30 tonnes of maize each that was supposed to be exported to Zimbabwe.

Mr Chitambo added that the documents made by Mwimbi were for Madula Agro Support Limited as the exporters of Maize to show that the documents were issued by the Ministry of Agriculture which was not the case.

He said investigations are still proceeding and the suspect will appear in court soon.
