Water project gets boost

Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Development has handed-over 20 vehicles worth K782 million for the water infrastructure rehabilitation project.

 Acting Director for Human Resource and Administration Moven Nswana said the ministry is happy to officially handover the  20 vehicles which were donated by the World Bank to address water infrastructure deficit.

Mr.Nswana said this during the official handover of the 20 vehicles at government complex in Lusaka today.

 Mr.Nswana said the vehicles will be distributed to each ministry countrywide.

He said the ministry through water resources management authority will build 22 small to medium dams and construct 300 bore holes countrywide.

He disclosed that the project will purchase 80 motorcycles to support water management throughout the country

Mr.Nswana said the project will start this year and end in 2015.

He said the ministry will work closely with the relevant government departments at both district and national levels to ensure the water situation across the country is improved.
