Zambia to host SADCOPAC conference

Lusaka, August 27th, ZANIS—The National Assembly of Zambia will next month host the 11th Southern Africa Development Community Organisation of the Public Accounts Committee (SADCOPAC) annual conference.

 

The conference which will run from the 1st to 5th September in Lusaka will be held under the theme “Enhancing Development through Oversight of Public Procurement: The Role of Public Accounts Committee”.

 

Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini is expected to officially open the five days conference on 1st September 2014 which will host a total of 250 delegates.

 

ZANIS reports that this is according to a statement issued in Lusaka today by National Assembly of Zambia Media Liason Officer Mathew Mukelabai.

 

SADCOPAC is an autonomous and independent association Of Public Accounts Committees from SADC states established to among other duties promote mutual support, foster the exchange of ideas knowledge and experiences.

 

It also acts as a recognized voice of Public Accounts Committee within the SADCC community and promote accountability, good governance and transparency in the SADCC states.

 

The Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly of Zambia is one of the founding members of SADCOPAC.
