MTN Zambia says will roll out the Ericsson Platform that will integrate MTN Mobile Money with all banks by September. The firm’s Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, Amos Jere, said it will also actively work with the Bank of Zambia to educate people about the need to use mobile financial services. Jere said MTN aims to work with 120,000 farmers in the next agricultural season through its mobile money platform. He says currently, 4,000 farmers have successfully been paid through the platform for their cotton in Eastern Province, Lusaka Times reported. Jere said mobile money will help limit incidences of cash thefts of money in transit.
