MKUSHI district commissioner Luka Mwamba has appealed to ZAFFECK Construction Limited to hasten construction works at the new district hospital.
Speaking in an interview after conducting a spot check, Mr Mwamba said there is need by ZAFFECK Construction Limited to speed up and finish works by the August 30 deadline.

He said extension of works would not be tolerated.
Mr Mwamba’s appeal comes in the wake of complaints by the community against ZAFFECK Construction Limited’s alleged slow pace of constructing the new district hospital.
In another development, Mr Mwamba said Karen Construction Limited is on course to complete the urban road works within 12 months.
Mr Mwamba said all the machinery had been brought on site to ensure that the roads are done within the stipulated time frame.
He said Mkushi North Patriotic Front (PF) member of Parliament (MP) Ingrid Mphande who is also Deputy Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health will soon commission the 18km stretch of roads in the area.
Mr Mwamba has since appealed to residents to be patient as road works will be completed on time.
And Luano’s PF Mwalala ward councillor Bedford Katiti has appealed to Government to extend the early marriage campaign to rural areas.
Mr Katiti said early marriages are a common feature in rural communities and cited his ward as one of the areas where the practice is rampant.
“Some parents are forcing school going girl children as young as 14 years of age into early marriages,” he said.
