——-Zesco is set to construct a 66kv overhead line from Chambishi Copper Smelter in Kalulushi to a proposed substation site in Chingola.
ZESCO Environmental Specialist Kabamba Mbewe confirmed this in an interview in Kalulushi district today.
This was when she and her team had a stakeholder consultative meeting at the District Commissioner’s Office.
Ms Mbewe said her utility company will commence the project to meet the growing demand for power in Chingola district due to increased social-economic activities.
She said the line would cover the distance of Approximately 30 kilometres.
And Kalulushi District Commission Kampamba Mulenga says she welcomes the development to the id the idea was welcome in the area
