A 50 year old man of Nsumbu area in Nsama district has allegedly been murdered by unknown people over suspicions of witchcraft.
Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Malcolm Mulenga confirmed the development to ZANIS in a telephone interview. Today.
Mr. Mulenga identified the deceased as Francis Chifupa Nsama who he said was stabbed in the ribs on Thursday night but later died this morning at Kaputa District Hospital after admission.
The persons who stabbed the deceased are still unknown although police have launched an investigation into the matter.
ZANIS reports from Kaputa District that the deceased was stabbed by unknown persons who suspected him of practising witchcraft.
Mr. Mulenga said he has received the report but could not disclose the cause of the incident.
And a medical personnel from Kaputa district Hospital also confirmed the death of Nsama.
The source said Nsama was admitted to the hospital yesterday but died around 01 hours today.
Efforts to get a comment from the deceased son Bright Nsama who was nursing the father in hospital proved futile as had already gone back home with the body for burial.
On Tuesday a 54 man of Kaputa was arrested for stabbing his step son to death.
