UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says there is need for government to quickly address challenges in the payment of salaries for workers at Times of Zambia.
Mr Hichilema stated that it is disheartening to learn that employees at the government owned Times of Zambia newspaper have gone for 3 months without pay at a time the cost of living is unbearable to many people.
He wondered how families of the employees were surviving and managing to pay their rentals, children’s school fees among other costs yet management boards have not helped to resolve the problems.
Mr Hichilema has since appealed to government to immediately pay the outstanding salaries to the Times of Zambia employees.
This is contained in a press statement issued by Mr Hichilema and obtained by Mano News last evening.
