The Lusaka High has set 12 May, for contempt hearing against MMD president NEVERS MUMBA for disregarding a court order NOT to proceed with a party National Executive Committee Meeting. The contempt proceedings will be heard by High Court Judge EDDIE SIKAZWE. MMD Vice President MICHAEL KAINGU confirmed this in an interview with ZNBC news in LUSAKA. The two MMD Vice Presidents MICHAEL KAINGU and BRIAN CHITUWO had sought an injunction restraining Dr MUMBA from proceeding with the NEC meeting which the clergyman ignored. And Dr KAINGU says people aspiring for the Republican Presidency should lead in upholding the constitution of the land. Meanwhile, Dr KAINGU said the MMD in its current state is of no use to anyone. He said all MMD members should join efforts in overcoming the political turbulence arising from leadership wrangles in the former ruling party.
