Both Police sources and relatives to the two deceased confirmed the development to Zanis in Kalomo saying the incident happened over the weekend following a marital dispute.
Paul Mukomokela 40, of Musozya village in chief Nyawa’s area is said to have picked a quarrel on Sunday with his wife, Mary Siamwanza 41 over their going to different churches forcing Siamwanza to flee her matrimonial house to stay with her parents.
It believed that Siamwanza later decided to come back home to ask for a blanket owing to the culminating cold weather when she met her fate after her husband hit her to the head with a pounding stick leading to death.
Mukomokela later after murdering his wife run into the nearby bush with a rope and hanged himself to a tree.
The villagers who pursued him later discovered his hanging body.
Cousin to the deceased woman, Jailos Sinkenene, who is also Nyawa chiefdom neighborhood chairperson confirmed the incident which was reported to Zimba Police station who advised both parties to bury their dead in Nyawa area.
