Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has expressed disappointment over the continued abuse of public funds by public officers.
Commenting on latest Auditor General’s report which has revealed glaring irregularities with over K1 billion in mprest being unretired, TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu says the figures are shocking.
Mr. Lungu has since called on the law enforcement agencies to expeditiously deal with cases involving abuse of public funds for the good of the nation.
He states that the abuse of public resources should not be tolerated at all costs.
Mr. Lungu has since urged public service workers to be honest in their work and ensure that they account every amount of money without any delay.
